New work

One of the most exciting things is when a composer writes a new piece for you! In 2015 I played the world premieres of three new pieces especially written for me.

In April I played Mike Svoboda’s Triple Concerto together with the other two finalists of the Aeolus competition, Tom Poulson (trumpet) and Rubén Durá de Lamo (tuba), and the Philharmonisches Orchester Cottbus.

In May I was guest on the modern music festival Acht Brücken in Cologne, together with the Asko|Schönberg Ensemble, to perform Heliodor for trombone and ensemble by Malika Kishino.

During the NJO Muziekzomer I played a piece for trombone and ensemble called World, words, air and a human being by Serbian composer Sonja Mutic, which part of a programme called the Unanswered Question.

At the moment renowned Dutch composer Theo Verbey is working on a new composition for trombone and piano.
